Entry FAQs

Who can enter the Highways CHAMPIONS Awards?

Anyone working within the highways industry is eligible to be nominated. Given the individual nature of these awards, we encourage organisations through their departmental leaders and HR departments to nominate their staff for recognition at the Highways Champions Awards. Please refer to the specific category of your interest for more details and criteria.

Can I nominate myself?

Technically yes, but we prefer entries via department leaders/HR teams so there is recognition and ownership of the obligation to attend the awards ceremony if you and/or your team member(s) are elected Highways Champions Awards Honourees, or shortlisted.

Can I enter multiple categories?

Yes. There is no limit to the number of nominations that you can enter and submissions are free of charge. As long as you are eligible based on the description of the category then there are no restrictions as to how many categories you can enter. However, please be aware, as is standard for these types of awards, that you are required to attend the awards ceremony if your team member(s) are elected Highways Champions Awards Honourees, or shortlisted.

Can I edit my entry once it has been submitted?

No. Once your entry has been submitted, you will be unable to edit what has been written. You can contact us if you would like to make any changes post-submission but we recommend that you only press submit when you are 100% happy with what is on screen.

Can I add video content to my entry?

Yes. A dedicated section is available to entrants if they would like to add multimedia content.

I am unsure of how to begin my submission and where to place my focus?

With a limited amount of words to play with, we recommend that those looking to submit an entry focus on these key areas:

  • Relevance to the category
  • Proof of what you are saying/testimonials
  • Clarity

The key consideration is also the simplest. Ensure that your submission is easy to read, backed up with evidence, and showcases excellence in the category.

Are there any time restrictions on activities?

The Long Service and Rising Stars categories requirements are stated in the entry process. Otherwise, there are no restrictions. Most recent activity has the greatest salience.

Is there a cost to enter?

It is a FREE entry for the awards categories. Should your nominees be elected Highways Champions Awards Honourees, or be shortlisted, as per the terms and conditions, you must have representatives attend the awards ceremony.

What information is required for the submission?

Each category has its own criteria and set of questions, but across the board the judges will be looking for clear evidence in the form of data and/or supporting testimonials.

Do nominees need to be UK-based?

We accept nominations from international organisations, however, the activities of those being nominated need to be mostly UK based.

When will the winners be announced?

The organisations who have nominated successful Highways Champions Awards Honourees, the winner of the Highways Fellowship Award winner and those shortlisted for the Special Awards will be informed around 18 August 2026 and the Medals and Awards will be awarded at the Highways Champions Awards ceremony on 4 November 2026.

How can I book a table?

Anyone working across the highways sector is welcome to attend the awards with tables and half tables available to book online.
