What are the Highways Champions Awards about?
BACKED BY THE SECTOR
The Highways Champions Awards are the only recognition awards formally backed by the UK’s major national highways institutions: National Highways, The Welsh Government and The Scottish Government. The Awards are also fully endorsed by the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE), Road Safety Markings Association (RSMA), Road Surface Treatments Association (RSTA), Institute of Asphalt Technology (IAT), Traffic Management Contractors Association (TMCA) and Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning and Transport (ADEPT). This breadth of support is unprecedented and highlights the trust the sector is placing in these new awards.
Our independent judges come from across the industry including The Office of Road and Rail, The Road Safety Foundation, National Highways and Passive Safety. Read more about our Steering Committee and Judges.
RECOGNITION FOR YOUR STAFF
The Highways Champions Awards are an opportunity to provide national-scale recognition for key members of your teams who have demonstrated exceptional qualities such as skill, planning, innovation, resourcefulness, thoughtfulness, selflessness and bravery. The awards are open to all those in the sector, from the frontline highways workforce and those in the supply chain, to those located mainly in offices and management (both public and private sectors). We also welcome nominations from the blue and orange light services, control rooms and customer contact centres, and we hope to see recognition for the sector’s mental health advocates, physical health workers and safety specialists.
There are separate medals to be awarded to those with long service to the sector and, at the other end of the career ladder, to our rising stars.
